Odyssey Drum with SafeDrive Gears for use in HP M402
This Odyssey drum features patented SafeDrive gear technology, which features a lever mechanism in the HM402PDGRKIT-2 to engage the dongle on the PG2DRHM402-2 drum gear. The lever is actuated by the printer door and provides smooth removal and installation.
The drum and gear are pre-assembled and the HM402PDGRKIT-2 is required (sold separately).
During remanufacturing, the OEM bearing plate on the cartridge is removed with a pry tool to break two ultrasonic welds. During re-assembly, install the clear OPC washer and simply attach the replacement bearing plate with a bolt and nut (provided in the HM402PDGRKIT-2). The cartridge end plate is re-attached using the OEM screws. No further modification of the OEM cartridge plastic is needed.
